Ardie Savea got his jersey from his brother Julian, a burst of pride from his parents and high praise from his coaches after his eye-catching Super Rugby debut.
"It was pretty special," the 19-year-old openside flanker said after the Hurricanes' 41-29 win over the Waratahs. "It's a proud moment, not only for both of us, but for mum and dad.
"They like to do their own thing after the game but I know they're happy because when I told them I was playing and Jules was too, they were really happy. It's an awesome feeling to make them proud."
